Mr. Rea attained Martindale’s AV Preeminent rating from his peers, the top attornety rating available. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1993, and served as an editor of its Law Review. After graduating, Mr. Rea served as the judicial clerk for the Honorable Howard S. Chasanow of the Court of Appeals of Maryland (now Maryland’s Supreme Court). He has practiced for AmLaw 100 and 200 law firms over the majority of his career. He originally became an equity partner in 2000. Don has served in various leadership roles for his law firms, including Chair of the Construction Practice and Co-Chair of the Financial Services Practice for an AmLaw 200 firm of more than 350 attorneys and 16 offices in ten States and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Rea has served on numerous Bar Association and Court Committees to advance the practice including as an instructor at the Maryland Judicial Education University on business and technology legal topics; the e-discovery local rules committee of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and a prior Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Business and Technology Committee. Mr. Rea was senior editor and a principal author of the legal treatise Litigating Contracts in Maryland (Lexus Publishing, 2019). He has lectured before the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and the Maryland State Bar Association, among a host of industry and professional associations, including the Associated General Contractors of America and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Don is a proud husband and father of three adult children who has lived and worked his entire career in the greater Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. He enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, and vacationing anywhere with his family.
